Tonight I cooked dinner and my whole family came over to eat. I made some delicious read wine roast with winter veggies, lice carrots, celery and a delicious potato parsnip puree. I love to have a nice sweet and creamy dessert after a larger meal so I wondered what I could make which was easy and everyone would like… of course what else than a rich vanilla cream panna cotta. I do have many panna cotta recipes where one has to use egg yolks or have them steam in a water neath… anyways this recipe is very basic and can be made in a very short time. Only few ingredients make this dessert an appropriate and perfect dinner dessert any time of the year.
This is what you will need…
- 450g heavy cream
- 80g sugar
- 3 pieces of gelatine
- 2 vanilla beans
- raspberries or strawberries for topping
Split vanilla bean and scrape out vanilla pulp. Whisk together vanilla pulp, sugar and heavy cream in a medium sauce pan and bring to a boil. Reduce temperature to very low and let simmer for about 10 minutes. Then remove from heat. Meanwhile soak gelatine leaves (pieces) in water until soaked. Add soft gelatine to heavy cream mixture using a whisk and last but not least fill up prepared bowls or cups for serving. Let panna cool in fridge or cool place for approximately 4 hours…
