As Nadja offered me chocolate morsels from her stay in Florida in summer, I needed to bake cookies with them. Until now I always chopped the chocolate if making cookies because I could not find chocolate chips or morsels. I found a recipe for chocolate chip cookies on ‘Handle The Heat‘.
I actually have my favorite cookie recipe form Joy of Baking that I always make but I thought it was time for trying a new one. Must say I think I got a new favorite , the cookies are chewy and Nadja’s chocolates chips taste heavenly! I made the cookies for my friend Lillith who’s throwing her birthday party on Sunday and she loves chocolate so I hope she will like them. I didn’t follow the preparation instructions of the original recipe. (:
Ingredients:
225g butter, softened
225g white sugar
225g brown sugar
2 eggs
2 teaspoons pure vanilla powder
1 teaspoon baking powder in 2 tablespoons hot water
1/2 teaspoon salt
360g flour
340g semi sweet chocolate chips or morsels
Preparation:
1: Mix butter until smooth. Add the sugars, salt and vanilla. Scrape down the sides if needed and add the eggs.
2: Add the baking powder-water mixture to the butter mixture and mix well.
3: Add the flour, then the chocolate chips.
4: Place the dough in the fridge for a couple of hours (or over night).
5: Preheat the oven to 175 degree. Cover a tray with a baking sheet. Form round 1 cm thick cookies and place them on the covered tray, leaving enough space between them. Bake until golden brown.
Enjoy,
Noemi (:
