Fudgy moist chocolate bundt cake

DSC_0138

I kept thinking about making a perfect fudgy chocolate cake and I figured a really delicious and fudgy recipe. I added sour cream in the batter which makes it taste really moist. Topped with my ganache this bundt cake looks really shiny, plus sprinkled with chocolate drops it makes all chocolate lovers want to bite in right away. I brought this cake as a gift to a  family get-together and everybody loved it. What I like about bundt cakes most is that they look really nice but aren´t as fancy as normal cakes which makes them perfect for any occasion.DSC_0030

For the cake:

  • 5 oz of chocolate drops
  • 1 stick of butter
  • 200g sugar
  • 1 cup of boiling water
  • 2 eggs
  • 1& 1/2 tsp. baking soda
  • 2/3 cup sour cream
  • 280g all purpose flour
  • 1/2 tsp. salt

Preheat oven to 350°C. Butter and flour a bundt cake pan. Bring one cup of water to a boil. Melt chocolate with butter. Stir in sugar & boiling water and mix until smooth.  Dissolve baking soda in sour cream & stir into chocolate mixture. Add eggs until well blended. Now also add flour and salt. Fill batter into bundt cake pan and bake in oven for about 30-40 minutes.

Let cool out for 10 minutes. Then flip bundt cake on a plate. Let cool out completely.

Meanwhile prepare ganache glaze:

  • 6 oz chocolate drops
  • 2 Tbs. butter
  • 1/2 cup heavy cream

Combine chocolate & butter in a bowl. Set aside. Bring heavy cream to a boil. Whisk in chocolate &butter until melted and smooth.  Spread ganache on top of bundt cake. Don´t mind letting the ganache run down the sides. And last but not least sprinkle with chocolate drops… which I  find really cute looking. Serve…

and Enjoy! (:
