This weekend my family and I spent the time on our mountain chalet. Yesterday we had family over for a barbecue and as I can´t bake on our chalet because of the old wood stove I still baked a cake at home on friday night. Guglhupf- as we call this marble bundt cake tastes really moist and is my absolutely favorite bundt cake for coffee and tea. It doesn´t really taste swwet at all which I like best about this recipe… Have a great week start and enjoy!
This is what you will need:
- 250g butter
- 150g powdered sugar
- 100g normal sugar
- 4 eggs, seperated
- 240g all purpose flour
- 1 tbs. vanilla sugar
- grated lemon zest of one lemon
- 3 tbs. cocoa powder
Seperate eggs. Mix eggw hites until stiff then add sugar until well mixed. Set aside. In another bowl mix butter creamy, add powdered sugar, vanilla sugar, egg yolks and mix until smooth. Now also add lemon zest. Fold in flour and stiff egg whites using a whisk or a spatula. Divide batter into two halves. add cocoa powder to one half and stir until well combined. Butter your bundt cake tin and alternately pour 2 tbs. of cocoa batter and 2 tbs. of plain batter into bundt cake tin until no batter remains.
Bake in oven for about 30-45 minutes (oven temperature 180°C).
Let cool out completely. Dust with powdered sugar right before serving.
